Townie Coffee Roasters is an idea and a dream 15+ years in the making. What started as an unassuming summer barista job back in 2010 along coastal Rhode Island has now catapulted into a small business along the coast of Southern Maine.
Why Townie?
Growing up in New England meant beautiful summers and challenging winters. It meant knowing someone everywhere you went (or knowing someone that knows someone). It meant complaining about living here, but never actually leaving.
Whether you grew up here, pay visits to family and friends, or live here now; you know the charm that New England holds. The coffee that we want to share with this community is similar to the sentiments we are currently sharing with our family as we grow up in this region together. We want it to be approachable, enjoyable, and filled with pride.
OUR APPROACH
My first sip of coffee was around the age of two (date unknown, source: parents), and since then I was hooked. While my love for coffee has never wavered, the different levels and styles of roasts have, especially after diving into specialty coffee.
At Townie Coffee Roasters we focus on light and medium roasts, mostly single origin, as we attempt to get the most out of every bean that comes through our roaster. Our goal is to reach those who enjoy the complexity and balanced acidity that a lighter roast can provide, as well as those who may be curious about them. We value the care and attention to detail the producers of our specialty coffee put in and want to highlight that in every roast.
