The Danbi Udo station, operated by Hailu Abebe of Demand Trading PLC, is known for producing high-quality coffee from Ethiopia’s Guji Zone. Farmers carefully handpick ripe cherries, which are meticulously processed and sorted before dry milling in Addis Ababa. Grown at elevations of 1,950–2,200 meters, the coffee develops dense beans ideal for roasting, while Guji’s volcanic soil, shade-grown environment, and mild climate contribute to its renowned sweetness and clarity. Local smallholders often intercrop coffee with fruits and legumes and use organic inputs to support soil health and prevent erosion.
